It is time to change the stubbornness of bureaucracy

The freedom and abundance of the greenery on the other side of this stubborn wall is a common property, but one who has created the stubborn stumbling blocks made it difficult to access that greenery. Sometimes subtle human beings are placed in front of such stubborn blocks. The so called well organized bureaucracy with its fine cuttings and shapes represents themselves as the strongest protector of your life.  The internal structure is unknown to the public. The face is maintained and kept strong for the people to see. They stand in front of you with zero flexibility as real stumbling blocks of your life. And you know that if you have the possibility to cross that barrier, the life will find its greenery in abundance on the other side. You only see the glimpse of it from one side and the access passages are made so narrow and rigid that you don’t really even make it to that greenery. If you want to reach the other side you start walking passing by all those stubborn stones and at the end you may find a way, but you may need a life time to make it happen. By the time, you reach there, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy it anymore.  If the stubbornness is softened and the narrow gates are a bit more widely opened for a better and easy access, more and more people will have the chance to that greenery of abundance and will live their life in peace and joy.

The blocks of system are concretized, and the blocks itself has lost its naturality and charm, this man-made structure just gets older and older without having much changes and at the same time thousands of people on the other side slowly deprived of their little chance to be in the freedom of abundance and to have at least a little bit of that greenery. Instead, people are provided with the filters that supports the stubborn concrete system.  All those who do not pass through the filters, will never get even the opportunity to have the glimpse of the greenery on the other side. If the filtering is well accepted, then through the narrow gate the rays of the abundance of the green pasture arrives you in a regular manner. But then you are made inflexible thereafter, your so-called freedom of life is gone forever. You are regularly going through filters of those stubbornness.  And thus, you will be slowly chained to the system and become the slaves who furnishes the demands of the system.

The moment you make a different move, you loose your view of the green pasture and you don’t get the rays of abundance anymore and you are doomed and even punished. You are obliged to stay in the same position, as long as you want to receive that rays from the abundance of the green pastures. You can overlook but sometimes you are not tall enough to see the deep-down greenery, you see only the vague blue skies and the tips of the greenery and you can’t really make a choice or you don’t have a choice at all other than just take the offered rays of abundance as a result of going through the filters. You can’t make any decisions because you don’t really don’t know what is at the bottom of the stubborn walls on the other side.

So, it is time to make a change in the stubbornness and to create more happy people around by providing them the freedom and easy access to the greenery and thus they too enjoy living in this society.

A Global Pollution Management Project (HAAO)

HAAO

(Here After All One)

(Project for global waste or pollution management)

One cable one socket Project

The picture above is a clear example how your table top would be messy if you have all those devices at home or office. How nice and peaceful it would be if we have just one connector that would fit for all those devices. You can just imagine that how happy you would be even just thinking about it. You would not be connecting all your devices at the same time to all the connectors. That means you don’t need them all at once. With one or two connectors, you would be able to manage all of them if it could fit with all your devices.

I would be very happy if it was possible with one connector I could manage all my devices. But unfortunately that is not possible, because my table is full of cables from all different types of devices. However, I try, I can’t make it in a different way, I can hide it but it is still there! If I have 10 devices from 10 different makers, I have 10 different cables. That is because each company wants to have their own particular type of cables and connectors for their devices. And as a customer I am compelled to buy all those things. And the companies just don’t give them for free, I have to pay for each of those “going to be junk” stuff.  Just imagine, I have a device and a connector and I wanted to buy a new device from a different maker and I can use the same connector, I would be happy to use the same connector for my new device too. That will benefit me for less investment for my new device. Most of the time if you like to buy a new connector or cable for a device separately, it is also a big investment!

It is time to make a difference in this system of production to make it better for the environment. An individual customer cannot make a difference, it is very important that each and every company take the responsibility of coming together to make the change in this system of production. They have to come to a common agreement in the production for the betterment of the environment, instead of company being very stubborn that the customer have to use only the cables and connectors from the same maker.

Make it more open and flexible the use of these connectors that everyone in the world benefit from it. Why to kill this Earth by polluting it more for nothing. This could have easily been solved by companies coming together to a common agreement.

Objective
The main objective of this project is to create an awareness in the companies to make one global model cable and socket for all their electronic devices.

All the small electronic devices in this world should have one type of socket and one type of cable for charging and data transmission.
This project looks like Globalization, but in reality, this is to create less pollution on the Earth.

Advantages:
  1.    Anyone can use any device anywhere in the world (Social benefit globally)
  2.    People don’t have to buy new cable if they already have one for a new device (Reusable benefit)
  3.    Reduced number of production of cables (Lesser number of companies, less air pollution)
  4.    Saving time: No more waste of time in inventing new types of cables (Time benefit)
  5.    Reduced amount of wasted cables (avoiding plastic and rubber pollution)
  6.    Less toxins from the plastic and rubber (environmental benefit)
  7.    Save money (Economical benefit)
  8.    Less amount of stress for searching for the right cables (psychological benefit)
  9.    Less messy table tops with so many types of connecting cables (Tidy Tables)
  10. 10. Availability (Always a cable available for all purpose)

Stop making connectors and spend that time in creating something more useful and durable for the whole world. It saves time, energy, money, and at the same time you save this beautiful Earth by not polluting it more. You can try out inventing new things but the mass production of it should take place only after proving that it is really useful and durable.

In the modern world, there are companies that have mass productions of useless stuff expecting that it is going to bring profit but most of the time those products don’t get to the market as they expect. And thus, a lot of waste is produced.

This is a Global invitation for everyone to think and make the right decision to make our world better.

PS: All those wish to share this concept you are welcome!

This chart was available in the Wikipedia to show the division of the population of the world according to their beliefs at the time of uploading this blog. Percentages may be changing day by day.

What is the meaning of this chart? Does it mean that you are happy because you are part of such and such religions, or does it guarantee that you have a golden seat reserved in heaven after your death?

No. It just means that you are not free. You don’t have the freedom to live a peaceful life here on earth without being part of any of these religions.

1. Peace exists when there is proper freedom and freedom exists when there are no strings attached to it. If you think that your dog need to be chained in order to keep it in control or to keep other people safe from your animal, then it is okay to have a small string attached to the dog. But for our general understanding nobody put a 50kg chain on a 10kg sweet dog!

A large part of the humanity is experiencing this situation at this moment. A heavy load of strings by various religions are put on soft, caring, loving, kind and compassionate human beings. And asking them to move on with their life. And if they succeed, at the end, they will get a cookie, a cookie of imaginary eternal life! Is your life worth only for a cookie? Then you are making a huge mistake or you are having a slavish mentality and you are happy with it.

There are 31.5% of the world population believe in Christianity and 23.3% believe in Islam. And a big group of world population believes in various other religions. What is in these percentages? Does it mean anything to anyone? Does it make any god more powerful than the other to save the entire humanity? No. Do you think that you can make any change in the modern world if you believe in any of these religions? In reality not. In the modern world religion is just a brain washed business model that successfully run with an age-old documentation, tradition and rituals which require no updates because of the uncertainty of the life after death.

2. Human gene is evolved to a certain stage that it looks for survival, pleasure and happiness. Therefore, it will cling on to anything that promises an afterlife with never ending pleasure and happiness! In reality, afterlife is a byproduct of survival, even to survive after the death. There is no love, care, kindness and compassion in life after death.  If it exists, it is not because you believed in any religion, but because of your ability you achieved by living a good life, caring for others, with love, kindness and compassion. No religion can claim it as their merit if a person if good. The care, love, kindness and compassion that religions preach is always attached with a string to a god that is external. It is time to break those strings to find the true who you are.

Find the goodness within you, find the god within you, find the divine within you. And when every human being is able to achieve that, the result is peace.  And peace can never come into existence unless and until the religions cease to exist.  No religion is capable of practicing their belief in this world without the promise of an afterlife. Because afterlife itself is an unrealized imagination of brainwashed religions. That is the reason they are incapable of bringing peace into the real world.

3. No religion will be able to send people into the space and to different planets with their beliefs. It will happen only by the advancement of science and technology. So it is a waste of energy and money if you want to preserve religion and protect its gods in this modern world because you are promised an eternal life.
If the science can prove and convince what is there after the death of a person, people will start believing in it. And the religions will cease to exist. Unfortunately, religions jumped into execute that business of making people believe in uncertainties, from a very early stage of human development, it will take time to think differently. And when science take over that task with proofs and evidences the belief systems will have no prevalence. And science is slowly taking its roots.

There was a time when all the natural calamities are considered to be a curse from gods of different religions. But in the modern world, when people get to know more about the nature, universe and its functioning they start to understand that it is not a curse from god but rather it is part of the universal happenings. There is no god that sits in the sky and throw meteorites to the earth to destroy earth and the living beings in it. It is the universal motion that makes it happen. And we already know a little bit how all these things are happening in the universe. We just needed to know more about this universal motion that causes all these things to happen in the course of time.

We will be faster in thinking and doing better to know more about the universe if only we get out of the brainwashed religious teachings. Take religions as a hobby, just like going for a walk for exercise, or take it as a reading material, just like a novel that gives you some pleasure and relaxation. Don’t take it as part of your life!

4. Let us think out of the box. According to the above chart 68.5% (100-31.5=68.5) of the world population is not believing in Christianity and they are not following any rituals of Christianity. In the same way 76.8% (100-23.2=76.8) of the world population are non-believers in the eyes of Islam. And 85% (100-15=85) of the world population simply don’t have anything to do with Hinduism. If that is the case with these three major religions in the world what about all the other religions? That is pointing towards the fact that from the view of any religions, major part of the world population are non-believers and they still live and die just like any of the believers, may be in a better state of mind.

If we talk about belief, even the major religions are a minority compared to the world population and they are a failure. That is to say, if you are a believer in Christianity and you think Christian religion is everything for your life, 68.5% of the world population has nothing to do with Christianity and still their life is just as normal as others and they also die just like any other human person. And there are thousands of people in that 68.5% world population who are creative people, artists, singers, writers, scientists etc. And they just believe in their innate talents. And there are 16.3% of the world population that don’t believe in any religion and still they live and die without having any real troubles in their life, other than the troubles created by believers of other religions. There are also religions with a few thousand members in it. And they just ignore all the other major religions and still their life is fine and they also die just as any other human beings here on earth.

5. So my question is: then what is the use of having all these religions that fight for their beliefs and create chaos in the world. And what is the use of creating this chaos for the people who live here peacefully. The trouble makers live in this world and die after a while, in reality they achieved nothing, and none of them returned to life after their death to tell us that what they fought for was worth. Belief is like an atomic chain reaction, it goes on exploding, leaving so much of damage. But the effect gets less and less in the course of time. But when the goodness of humanity saw the damage of atomic reactions, made a decision not to use it anymore for destruction. And that was for the good of the humanity.  Unfortunately, that didn’t happen with religions.

The same kind of atomic reactions are happening with many religions even today in this advanced and developed society. Brainwashed people brainwashes others and it still continues to spread and create more and more damages to the humanity. But as we see, the effect is getting less and less, but the damage it created will continue for a while. And the victims of those damages will survive in the world for a short while. But it is not going to be that long that we see a new light in the world.

The humanity of goodness that will emerge from the ruins of these damages. The goodness of humanity is getting fed up with all religions. A good person remains good, and in every person, there is some goodness. It is time to cherish that basic goodness of each and every person and create a world full with people of goodness.
Let the people live by themselves with a nice and beautiful social system with love and care for each other which is the basis of human life.

So why not we make a change in the world by thinking out of the box of belief systems based on religions. All the religions in the world failed one way or other to spread the love, kindness and compassion. It is time to get out of this box of belief systems and trust in goodness of the humanity. The “goodness” is innate to the genes of every living organism with the exception of human beings having much more, because, as we understand, they are “intelligently good”.

In short, I would say, it is time to get out of the darkness of religions and find light in yourself. It is time to get out of the untruth of the religions to the truth of yourself. It is time to get out of the dead beliefs of religions and to see the beauty of your own life and the people around.

Healthy life through relaxation

The “Speed Culture”
takes away
your moments of relaxation

Sometimes we speed up in our life for nothing! And we know it from the daily journey of our life. We want to keep moving always. And to reach the destination as early as possible. I still remember the sign board where it was written: “It is better to be late than to be Mr.Late.” Yes, sometimes our over speed can take away our normal speed forever. And we won’t be alive to enjoy our speed again anymore.  So, it is good to take a break from this constant moving regularly. Or in other words slow down a bit so that we have more time to enjoy our normal speed. And also, we need to learn to stop for a while sometimes. The moments we try to stop will serve us to really slow down in our life for a better purpose.

I will try to explain this aspect with an example.  You are riding on a bicycle. In front of you a taxi car is stopped to pick up somebody. And you see there is not much space left for you to continue your ride easily with the same speed. But you don’t want to break the speed of your journey. Your speed culture brain washed mind is telling you not to wait and waste time behind the taxi car until it is moving. You get out from the bicycle and started pushing it by the side of the taxi car squeezing through, just to get in front of the taxi. Yes, you succeeded and you are in front of the taxi and you continue your ride.  But the next moment the taxi car is leaving the spot and in a few seconds time you are being overtaken by the same taxi car.

Now let me ask you a question. What was the benefit of you overtaking that taxi with so much struggle? Did you save any moment in your life by that action? You could have just waited a moment, you would be still behind the taxi.  If you had stopped, you would have had a moment to take a deep breath in a relaxed manner, a break from the exhaustion you had from the ride. A moment of relaxation which will give you more energy to freshen up your journey. But nothing of that sort would come to your mind other than the need for keeping up the speed. That is the effect of living in a speed culture.

The speed culture is teaching you to be fast and keep moving. The imposed speed culture slowly stealing your moments of relaxation without you being aware of it. Slowing Down in your life is a conscious decision, it cannot come into your life automatically. You will have to create a new mindset in order to enjoy those little moments to slow down. Otherwise you will move with the flow just like a piece of floating wood in a running stream.  And your health can be in a critical position.

If you don’t consciously slowdown in your life, you will be worn out earlier than you would expect. And once you are worn out you will be really slowing down, but that is not for the benefit of your life but rather that is the result of the exhaustion you had in your past! And you will never reach a stage where you are back to the cosmic speed, the speed of the universe. So be aware of the moments you get to slow down and make use of it.

Life on earth is a wonderful thing. But the chances of living on the Earth is very limited. Your life can be just like a bug's life, routines and then death, so insignificant.

BELONGING

I have a very long surname, may be one of the longest in the world that belongs to me. Thekkaekurikattukunnal.

But the question is Where do I belong? It is a question consciously or subconsciously sometimes we all ask ourselves. And it takes time to answer that question.

There was a time when I was taught by my teachers that belonging means, being part of something. In other words, belonging means “longing to be” part of something, like, to be part of a family, to be part of a group, to be part of a political party and so on. And I believed in it for a long time.  Yes, that was my basic understanding when I hear about the word belonging.
But in reality, we are simplifying and limiting a huge concept. Because the sense of belonging is natural and it is a human need, just like the need for air, the need for water and food, the need for shelter and clothing.

And therefore, belonging for me is something universal. Everyone have the need for it. So, the sense of belonging we cannot just limit to a family, or to a particular group, or even to a religion.

For me belonging is part of an internal search that will lead me to  bigger spectrum, it is a journey, it is a journey towards a larger entity. And it is a journey towards an unlimited source of energy. So, we need to find in ourselves first, the source of energy. And we should connect it to the universal energy where our belongingness is unlimited.

I would say it is better if I can belong to this universe and its unlimited energy which is still expanding endlessly every moment, to belong to it, to be part of that universal energy. Yes, that should be my goal. And that should be the goal of everyone.

And for me, belonging to the universal energy is a higher level of belonging. And I am sure it will be all inclusive. And there are no boundaries, and there are no strings attached to it. And there is an absolute freedom. The freedom of limitlessness. My belonging should make me free.

To reach that level of belonging is not an easy task.  But there is an entry point, that is meditation, where you reach out with your inner self and get reconnected to that universal energy where you are not alone and where you actually belong. That is belonging for me. In that belonging you too are there and everyone is there !!!

Slow Down Challenge in relation to Travis Bradberry’s views on burnout

Slow Down Challenge in relation to

Travis Bradberry’s views on burnout

Recently I studied an article about burnout from Dr. Travis Bradberry. According to him even the best jobs can lead to burnout. The harder you work and the more motivated you are to succeed, the easier it is to get in over your head. And the prevalence of burnout is increasing as technology further blurs the line between work and home.
The article further mentions about the new research from the American Psychological Association and the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. They reported the following:
48% of Americans experienced increased stress over the past 5 years
31% of employed adults have difficulty managing their work and family responsibilities
53% say work leaves them "overtired and overwhelmed."
A Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) poll also found that “burnout from my current job” was one of the top reasons that people quit. Burnout can get the better of you, even when you have great passion for your work. Arianna Huffington experienced this first hand when she almost lost an eye from burnout. She was so tired at work that she passed out, hitting her face on her desk. She broke her cheek bone and had to get four stitches on her eye. The continuous work with no break or variations caused her to reach up to that stage. It was clear when she expressed her views in a later period how she could have avoided such a state. “I wish I could go back and tell myself that not only is there no trade-off between living a well-rounded life and high performance, performance is actually improved when our lives include time for renewal, wisdom, wonder and giving. That would have saved me a lot of unnecessary stress, burnout and exhaustion” says, Arianna Huffington.

Bradberry further mentions that burnout often results from a misalignment of input and output; you get burnt out when you feel like you’re putting more into your work than you’re getting out of it. Sometimes this happens when a job isn’t rewarding, but more often than not it’s because you aren’t taking care of yourself.
He indicates the difficulty when one deals with burnout because according to him, before you can treat and prevent burnout, you need to recognize the warning signs so that you’ll know when it’s time to take action. And many are not capable of recognizing it in time. It is interesting to note some of the issues he mentioned in his article. He talks about health problems, cognitive difficulties, fatigue etc.

Health problems. Burnout has a massive, negative impact upon your physical and mental health. Whether you’re experiencing back pain, depression, heart disease, obesity, or you’re just getting sick a lot, you need to consider the role your work is playing in this. You’ll know when burnout is affecting your health, and you’ll just have to decide whether your approach to work is worth the consequences.
Cognitive difficulties. Research shows that stress hammers the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for executive function. Executive function impacts your memory, decision-making abilities, emotional control, and focus. When you notice that you’re making silly mistakes, forgetting important things, having outbursts of emotion, or making poor decisions, you’re likely burning out. Fatigue. Burnout often leads to exhaustion because of the toll stress takes on your mind and body. The hallmarks of burnout fatigue are waking up with no energy after a good night’s sleep, drinking large amounts of caffeine to get you through the day, or having trouble staying awake at work.

He also points out some of the psychological issues such as negativity, decreased satisfaction and loss of motivation as a result of burnout. Burnout can turn you very negative, even when you’re usually a positive person. If you find yourself focusing on the down side of situations, judging others and feeling cynical, it’s clear that negativity has taken hold and it is time for you to do something about it.
Burnout almost always leads to a nagging sense of dissatisfaction. Projects and people that used to get you excited no longer do so. This dip in satisfaction makes work very difficult, because no matter what you’re putting into your job, you don’t feel like you’re getting much out of it.
Losing your motivation is another drastic effect of burnoutWe begin jobs in a honeymoon phase, seeing everything through rose-colored glasses. When you’re in this phase, motivation comes naturally. In a burnout state, you struggle to find the motivation to get the job done. You may complete tasks, and even complete them well, but the motivation that used to drive you is gone. Instead of doing work for the sake of the work itself, your motivation stems from fear—of missing deadlines, letting people down, or getting fired.

Bradberry’s observation on how burnout can affect the personal relationship is also interesting. As he understands, stress bleeds over into everything you do, particularly how you interact with people. Even when you feel that you’re keeping your stress under control at work, it can rear its ugly head at home. It is just because you are taking your work home with you. He sees it as a sickening feeling when you’re lying in bed thinking about all the work that you didn’t get done and hoping that you didn’t miss something important? When you can’t stop thinking about work when you’re at home, it’s a strong sign that you're burning out. And often it’s your relationships that suffer. Stress makes many people more likely to snap at others, lose their cool, and get involved in silly, unnecessary conflicts. Others are more inclined to withdraw and avoid people they care about.

He also notices some “Performance issues” with people who have a burnout. People who burn out are often high achievers, so when their performance begins to slip, others don’t always notice. It’s crucial to monitor your slippage. How were you performing a month ago? Six months ago? A year ago? If you see a dip in your performance, it’s time to determine if burnout is behind it. “When you experience burnout, your self-control wanes and you find yourself succumbing to temptations more easily. This is largely due to the way that stress compromises your decision-making and self-control and also partially due to lower levels of confidence and motivation” says Bradberry. Life becomes a constant struggle against the things that feel good momentarily but aren’t good for you at all.

How to prevent a burnout
Bradberry’s suggestions to prevent burnout or recover from it, are fantastic from a scientific point of view. If you recognize many of these symptoms mentioned above in yourself, it is time to act. Fighting burnout is a simple matter of self-care. You need good ways to separate yourself from your work so that you can recharge and find balance. The following methods suggested by Bradberry will help you to accomplish this.
Disconnect. Disconnecting is the most important burnout strategy on this list, because if you can’t find time to remove yourself electronically from your work, then you’ve never really left work. Making yourself available to your work 24/7 exposes you to a constant barrage of stressors that prevent you from refocusing and recharging. If taking the entire evening or weekend off from handling work e-mails and calls isn’t realistic, try designating specific times to check in on emails and respond to voicemails. For example, on weekday evenings, you may check emails after dinner, and on the weekend you may check your messages on Saturday afternoon while your kids are playing sports. Scheduling such short blocks of time alleviates stress without sacrificing your availability.
I would say disconnecting is beneficial only if you return to the same environment with a new understanding and a new energy. If you don’t do that self-care, you will be soon facing the burnout again. That is why it is advisable for people to join with a Holistic Life Programme or the Slow Down Challenge etc. in order to have a different perspective of life and to understand how it functions.
Many people fail to pay attention to their body signals according to Bradberry. It’s easy to think that a headache is the result of dehydration, that a stomachache is the result of something you ate, and that an aching neck is from sleeping on it wrong, but that’s not always the case. Oftentimes, aches and pains are an accumulation of stress and anxiety. Burnout manifests in your body, so learn to pay attention to your body’s signals so that you can nip burnout in the bud. Your body is always talking, but you have to listen.

However to listen to the body one has to know who they are and to be familiar with the body and its strength. I find that very often people don’t know who they are and how powerful their body and their senses are. Jeeva Holistic Life Programmes develops courses and trainings for people to know more about their senses which in turn help to easily understand the body signals and to react in time.

Bradberry:”It’s just as important to plan out your relaxation time as it is to plan out when you work. Even scheduling something as simple as “read for 30 minutes” benefits you greatly. Scheduling relaxing activities makes certain they happen as well as gives you something to look forward to.”

I would suggest though that when you schedule relaxation time, it is important to remember to make that actual ‘quiet’ time. Free of thoughts. Even when you read you are active. So it is still an active relaxation. Meditation is great support in freeing up your mind. The different methods of meditation that are used during the Slow Down Challenge conducted by Jeeva Holistic Life Programmes, not only create an awareness of your body but also help you to free up your mind.

Bradberry suggests to stay away from sleeping pills. When he says sleeping pills, he means anything you take that sedates you so that you can sleep. Whether it's alcohol, Nyquil, Benadryl, Valium, Ambien, or what have you, these substances greatly disrupt your brain's natural sleep process. Have you ever noticed that sedatives can give you some really strange dreams? As you sleep and your brain removes harmful toxins, it cycles through an elaborate series of stages, at times shuffling through the day’s memories and storing or discarding them (which causes dreams). Sedation interferes with these cycles, altering the brain's natural process. Anything that interferes with the brain's natural sleep process has dire consequences for the quality of your sleep, and you need adequate, quality sleep to avoid burnout.

How wonderful it would be if you could sleep without the intake of any chemicals but to drink just water. However, if you are not aware of the power of this wonderful universal element you will never use it as a supporting factor for your sleep. The Slow Down challenge creates an atmosphere where people realize the power and need and the way of drinking water which help people to relax.

When Bradberry asks you to get organized, he has a reason. Much of the stress we experience on a daily basis doesn’t stem from having too much work; it stems from being too disorganized to handle the work effectively. When you take the time to get organized, the load feels much more manageable.
I heard from many people that they have no time to spend extra on anything outside their work or study. If you say that you have no time to attend a burnout prevention programme such as the Slow Down Challenge it is an indication that sooner or later you are going to be a victim of a burnout. So it is important to decide to take time and dedicate it to yourself. Because the success of your work strongly depends on your own good health.
Bradberry’s idea of taking regular breaks during the workday is a right strategy. Physiologically, we work best in spurts of an hour to an hour and a half, followed by 15-minute breaks. If you wait until you feel tired to take a break, it’s too late—you’ve already missed the window of peak productivity and fatigued yourself unnecessarily in the process. Keeping to a schedule ensures that you work when you’re the most productive and that you rest during times that would otherwise be unproductive.
Taking regular breaks is very suitable to avoid fatigue. You can even use those breaks to generate more energy, using simple methods. Some of the exercises used by the Slow Down Challenge are so simple that anyone can do them anytime, anywhere and at the same time generate more energy to function better.

What did he mean when Bradberry said that you lean on your support system? It is something that we ignorantly ignore. It’s tempting to withdraw from other people when you’re feeling stressed, but they can be powerful allies in the war against burnout. Sympathetic family and friends are capable of helping you. Spending time with people who care about you helps you to remove yourself from the stresses of work and reminds you to live a little and have fun.

The Slow Down challenge is encouraging people to connect to each other and it is a very important part of the course. Each and every person attending the course should feel a comfortable connection to the other. We achieve that by introducing various greetings ceremonies and methods during the course.

The final comment on burnout by Bradberry is still to be attended. If the above mentioned strategies don't work for you, then the problem might be your job, says, Bradberry. The wrong job can cause burnout in and of itself. In that case you'll have to decide what's more important: your work or your health.

So, Slow Down in your life. Take time to learn about your basic senses and get familiarized with yourself and your body and use the Slow Down Challenge tools when you see the waves of burnout approaching you.

It is time to SLOW DOWN

Society is changing. It is time to Slow Down. People and organisations are looking for more meaning. Words like empathy, passion, inspiration and meaningfulness are replacing ratio, knowledge and skills. Our programmes offer people the capacity to deal with the high demands of these times and to gain their authentic self and feel connected to the universal energy.

In education we see the start to evolve from test-based education, knowledge-based education to talent-based education, also in the ministry of Education. Some new schools are already embracing this new way of educating. For example; the Knowmads Alternative Business School in Amsterdam. They call themselves a platform for people who want to make a positive change in the world. Students create their own education and projects. A good example but also still an exception. It will take years before the entire traditional educational system has changed.

In the meantime, the changing society needs creative and flexible people; people who know who they are, believe in what they do and who want to be part of the change. All eyes are on the young people. However, they are a product of the traditional knowledge and test based education system, which according to author and education specialist Sir Ken Robinson, kills all creativity. They are either on grants, their parents are paying for them or they end up with a student loan. They feel the pressure on them to perform.   And they are not taught how to cope with all that stress. Yearly 250.000 young people under 30 get a burnout in the Netherlands (TNO). 25% of young people between 16-24 years old, feel lonely. That number tripled over the past 3 years (Trendrede 2015). Our young people see that society is changing, but they don’t have the capacity to hold their own and to determine their personal route in life. They have no idea who they are anymore and their life is determined by external factors.

Jeeva Holistic Life Programmes has developed a programme to assist schools and universities, who feel a strong responsibility towards the wellbeing and personal growth of their students. It is called the SLOW DOWN CHALLENGE. The programme is accessible for everyone (so even staff) but especially developed with the needs and interests of young people in mind. It offers those who want to take on the challenge:
-        The opportunity to take a deep breath and slowdown in life for a moment
-        A chance to meet and really connect to peers
-        The skills to reduce stress, find out who they are
-        Interesting stories and fun group exercises
-        Profound meditation skills: no ‘take-away’ meditation with a few breathing exercises, but an in-depth, slow, method based on using your own senses (always available) to connect to the universal elements, the universal energy.
-        If they are ready to do the ‘work’, it will be a life changing experience!

The whole universe consists of 5 elements: water, air, space, fire and matter. All these elements contain energy and are connected. One HAS to be part of this. But we are not aware of that most of the time, there is always an (be it subconscious) inner search, a struggle for that connection. With all our intellect we have lost the true intuitive aspects of our life. In the past we had it, but now it is mostly taken over by ratio. And we are caught up in that. Animals know they are part of a whole, they can feel and follow their instincts and intuitions without doubt. That starts with strong developed senses. They have no intelligent knowledge of the universal elements and energy, but through their senses they are connected to it.

The Slow Down Challenge is all about progressively raising your own consciousness, through your own senses, in order to experience more of the connection to the universe and to see it’s potential in your own life. Self awareness is a journey to self discovery.

There will be 5 sessions of 2 hours each and it will be conducted in English. The programme can be accompanied by individual holistic coaching and a follow up programme will be developed. It is even possible to organise podium events where speakers share their holistic, spiritual views and ideas.

The SLOW DOWN CHALLENGE reflects about my passion, knowledge, perspective and experience.
