It is time to SLOW DOWN

Society is changing. It is time to Slow Down. People and organisations are looking for more meaning. Words like empathy, passion, inspiration and meaningfulness are replacing ratio, knowledge and skills. Our programmes offer people the capacity to deal with the high demands of these times and to gain their authentic self and feel connected to the universal energy.

In education we see the start to evolve from test-based education, knowledge-based education to talent-based education, also in the ministry of Education. Some new schools are already embracing this new way of educating. For example; the Knowmads Alternative Business School in Amsterdam. They call themselves a platform for people who want to make a positive change in the world. Students create their own education and projects. A good example but also still an exception. It will take years before the entire traditional educational system has changed.

In the meantime, the changing society needs creative and flexible people; people who know who they are, believe in what they do and who want to be part of the change. All eyes are on the young people. However, they are a product of the traditional knowledge and test based education system, which according to author and education specialist Sir Ken Robinson, kills all creativity. They are either on grants, their parents are paying for them or they end up with a student loan. They feel the pressure on them to perform.   And they are not taught how to cope with all that stress. Yearly 250.000 young people under 30 get a burnout in the Netherlands (TNO). 25% of young people between 16-24 years old, feel lonely. That number tripled over the past 3 years (Trendrede 2015). Our young people see that society is changing, but they don’t have the capacity to hold their own and to determine their personal route in life. They have no idea who they are anymore and their life is determined by external factors.

Jeeva Holistic Life Programmes has developed a programme to assist schools and universities, who feel a strong responsibility towards the wellbeing and personal growth of their students. It is called the SLOW DOWN CHALLENGE. The programme is accessible for everyone (so even staff) but especially developed with the needs and interests of young people in mind. It offers those who want to take on the challenge:
-        The opportunity to take a deep breath and slowdown in life for a moment
-        A chance to meet and really connect to peers
-        The skills to reduce stress, find out who they are
-        Interesting stories and fun group exercises
-        Profound meditation skills: no ‘take-away’ meditation with a few breathing exercises, but an in-depth, slow, method based on using your own senses (always available) to connect to the universal elements, the universal energy.
-        If they are ready to do the ‘work’, it will be a life changing experience!

The whole universe consists of 5 elements: water, air, space, fire and matter. All these elements contain energy and are connected. One HAS to be part of this. But we are not aware of that most of the time, there is always an (be it subconscious) inner search, a struggle for that connection. With all our intellect we have lost the true intuitive aspects of our life. In the past we had it, but now it is mostly taken over by ratio. And we are caught up in that. Animals know they are part of a whole, they can feel and follow their instincts and intuitions without doubt. That starts with strong developed senses. They have no intelligent knowledge of the universal elements and energy, but through their senses they are connected to it.

The Slow Down Challenge is all about progressively raising your own consciousness, through your own senses, in order to experience more of the connection to the universe and to see it’s potential in your own life. Self awareness is a journey to self discovery.

There will be 5 sessions of 2 hours each and it will be conducted in English. The programme can be accompanied by individual holistic coaching and a follow up programme will be developed. It is even possible to organise podium events where speakers share their holistic, spiritual views and ideas.

The SLOW DOWN CHALLENGE reflects about my passion, knowledge, perspective and experience.
